Hello! I hope you’ve had a good week. Wasn’t that a beautiful little smattering of sunshine? I forget every year how incredible spring feels, and to be honest I haven’t been reminded much yet, but I have had a few moments of it this week and it was glorious.
This is our community post in which we chart the year, week by week. I tell you one thing I have noticed that felt particular to this week, and then you tell me yours. At the end of the month I collate them all into one big monthly post.
Here’s mine:
Magnolias and nearly dry washing
The magnolias are suddenly out all over Bristol, though I know we are often earlier than most of the country…how are yours looking? This one is just around the corner from my house and I always forget it does this. It’s slightly ridiculous, and very beautiful. What a strange sight post winter.
It was also warm enough one day to almost get a washing dry. Thrilling. I mean it...
Now before I sign off, a tiny bit of housekeeping. I mentioned last week that we all post photos in the ‘chat’ every Sunday morning, and someone popped up to ask how to find this, so I thought it worth a re-cap here. You can only find this in the substack app, not on the website, so first off you will need to download that.
There are three icons along the bottom of the screen and the one on the right is a speech bubble. Click on that and you will see chats started by whoever you follow on substack, and on Sunday mornings we are all in there sharing our seasonal pics from the week. Hope to see you there!
That’s it from me. Please do leave your comments below: what have you noticed this week that felt particularly ‘this week’?
Still snowdrops nodding to themselves in the breeze and somatic wild garlic pushing up to beat the bluebells as their greenery plumps up 🌱🍃🌿
Our magnolia is a while away yet. But I was in London the other day and was so surprised to see them out there. Felt a bit like the city had preview tickets to Spring but we have to wait for general release out here in the sticks.
