Hello! How has your week been? Here we tip forwards into almost summer-like days and then back into wintry ones, then forward, then back. I have started each day in summer clothes and then slowly added layers as the day has gone on. I am sitting here in a summer dress, two jumpers AND my relaxing trousers. The battle between winter and spring is on at my desk.
This is our community post in which we chart the week’s minutiae, the little changes in the season, the odd little particular things. I tell you mine and then you tell me yours.
Here’s mine:
Blossom
We love to hail a peak here on Lia’s Living Almanac, and I wonder…could this be Peak Blossom? It’s just so darned fluffy out there. This tree is on a nearby street and they are just picture perfect right now, billowy, soft and cushiony. I love the extreme difference between the trees as they were a couple of weeks ago with their dark, bare branches, and THIS. It’s ludicrous.
That’s it from me. Now I want to hear from you - what have you noticed this week that felt particularly ‘this week of the year’?
above the clamour of television and screeching of tyres on tarmac,
a blackbird lifts its own voice
and sings its own song . the sweetest of all, from the rooftops at dusk ,
heralding the night
Chiffchaffs chiffing and chaffing all over the place.
