Hello! I hope you have had a lovely week. Bright and chill here, beautiful, springy, no complaints at all, except that I am still writing with fingerless gloves on…
This is our weekly community post in which I tell you something that I have noticed that felt very ‘this week in the year’ and then you tell me yours, and together we track the seasons. It’s simple, it’s lovely.
Here’s mine:
Green umbrellas
Always the first to kick the canopy off, and they’ve done it again. The horse chestnuts are now out in force, elegant, beautiful, and giving us a good dose of May Green in April. This one is the first tree that greets me when I enter the park every morning, and it is very cheering. And come May of course they will be impressing us all again with their beautiful candelabras of flowers. A giver.
Over to you: what have you seen/eaten/smelt/done this week that felt particularly ‘this week of the year’?
First bluebells of the season here in Perthshire and some other May in April signs too ❤️🏴
We’re on a big rail trip, seeing spring further south. Great crested grebes doing a mating dance in Zurich, swifts in Milan and Naples, swallows in Pompei.
