Hello! Happy Samhain!…if that isn’t a contradiction in terms… Here we are in November and it is time for our community post in which I ask: what have you seen/done/baked this week that felt particularly ‘this week in the year’. I tell you mine and then you tell me yours, in the comments below, and then we wrap it all up at the end of the month into a big poem, much like the one I sent you yesterday.
Here’s mine:
Mel’s EXTRA front garden
We have one neighbour who clearly relishes any opportunity to display a bit of creativity in the front garden - always a beautiful Christmas display, always something magical for Window Wonderland - but she really outdid herself this Hallowe’en. This was insane. The street Whatsapp was abuzz. The queues for her house snaked down the road.
Our street is a great street for trick or treating. We have loads of cute little trick or treaters come around as the sun sets and then a ton of teens a little later on. We got through a couple of bowls of sweets and were all cleaned out by 7.30pm. And now I can only think that Mel has just upped the ante. We will need bucket loads next year.
That’s it from me. Please do remember to check out ‘Show us Your Pumpkins!’ which we did on the chat last night, and please add pictures of your own pumpkins too.
Speaking of which, this Sunday being the 1st Sunday of the month it is time for ‘Usual Spot’ in the chat, so get your pictures of your usual spots lined up. Blimey I’m keeping you busy at the moment aren’t I?
Now, please let us know: what have you seen/done/eaten/etc… this week that felt particularly ‘this week of the year’?
The crinch crunch of leaves on a walk along the river, a flash of blue as a kingfisher darts upstream. A welcome hot chocolate on the return home.
Falling leaves abd pumpkins this week. With the shorter days getting cosy, fairy lights on and trying to remember the light will return. Eventually.
