Hello! I hope you had a lovely Christmas! It is Week 52, we are right at the end of our year-long project. And yes it is in fact Friday. Who knew?
You may not be surprised to hear that I wrote this a few days early this week as I didn’t really want to be working on Boxing Day, but I wanted us to have a chance to put down our final week’s thoughts, especially as it is such a big one.
This is our community post in which we tell each other about the little things that we have noticed or done this week that have felt particularly ‘this week in the year’ and in this way we build up a multi-faceted picture of the month and season. I then select and edit them into a big, beautiful poem of the month, which will be incoming on New Year’s Eve…with a little twist.
With not much time having passed since I wrote my last post I simply offer you this group of Santas sitting in a Christmassy pub, which I loved to see.
Now over to you. Obviously this was a BIG WEEK and many of us did a lot of the same things but I can’t wait to hear your own takes on it. What are your little rituals? Which were the magic bits? Or maybe the rubbish bits? What caught your eye or what did you eat that was particularly delicious? Or maybe you sat it all out and did something else instead.
We’d love to hear all about it, so please leave us your comments for the final time this year: what was particularly ‘this week of the year’ about this week?
Oh yes and I hope you all got your almanacs under the tree…if not…
Midnight mass at the Abbey and all the choiristers looked angelic, until they revealed they were all wearing tartan pyjamas underneath and were in fact, just kids fighting to stay awake.
We’ve had flu here, so it’s been a really odd Christmas, but a restful one nonetheless. Recovering slowly in time for my big 50th birthday tomorrow, I’m embracing the next decade of my life!
