Hello! I hope you have had a wonderful week.
This is our community post where we all gather week by week to share the things we have noticed that feel particularly ‘this week in the year’. what has been particular to this moment in time? We take to the comments and share them, and chat about them there too.
Now this is in fact the last Friday in February and your last chance to drop any February nuggets. Next Thursday, the last day of February, I will drop the MASSIVE FEBRUARY POEM magicked up from your contributions so this is your last chance to get in on that. I wont be able to include everything so really have a think about the little moments that have made this week particular to this moment in the year for you. The more specific and niche, the more likely they are to make it in, past experience has shown…
Here’s my ‘this week’ thing:
This poor container in the park, really trying its best to do that bright and breezy, hopeful and happy, spring blossom and daffodils thing… while it absolutely chucks it down and the path runs with water…. Imagine this with a blue sky peppered with ‘The Simpsons’ clouds. A whole different world, isn’t it. But it is (surely?) coming.
That’s mine, I can’t wait to hear yours. Everyone can contribute, and please do pop back and chat in the comments section after you’ve done so. This substack has always had a very lively and supportive community and you can tap into this simply by leaving comments on other people’s comments and getting a chat going. I can’t wait to read what you’ve all spotted and been up to.
Enjoying blood oranges so much this week - sweet, marbled, juicy beauties !
The almost full snow moon hanging like a jewel in the sky lighting up my early morning kitchen x
A single swan flying overhead. Starlings fighting over the bird feeders in the rain. A late afternoon walk in the watery sunset with primroses, daffodils and hellebores coming out. An afternoon’s baking with the smell of biscuits and shortbread filling the house while I light the wood burning stove before tea. I actually love this time of year.
