We will be lighting the sauna down our garden tonight and steaming under the light of the full moon with friends. Thank you for reminding me of the Venice Carnevale which I went to over 20 years ago for my 40th. Loved prancing around in a mask!!
Wasn't it amazing! The build up to the moon's appearance felt wired with anticipation. We sauna'd together, coming out to steam under clear skies with stars and the bright moon. I stayed awhile after everyone had gone indoors and walked barefoot over frosted grass, the moon casting shadows on the ground. This snow moon has had a strong pull.
I was so ecstatic to get outside the other day, I got secateur happy and chopped a brown bin full of old prunings. It wasn't until a couple of nights later, I consulted my Almanac, which informed me what a terrible time to do that it is! Luckily I didn't get round to pruning my apple, crab apple, quince and medlar trees, I will leave that until after the 14th!!!
It makes such a difference to have these things to reflect on throughout the month. The painting is delightfully on the macabre side, to me. This post makes me want to pick up Neil Gaiman's "The Graveyard Book" for another read!

Hope it was wonderful. A good clear sky!

That’s wonderful Sue. You really made the most of the beautiful moment.
This sounds absolutely delightful. I hope you enjoy 💜
Thanks! We will
Had a lovely view of the Moon this evening. It was great to see it shining so brightly...
Wasn’t it a beauty!
It definitely was, Lia.

Ah I haven’t read it but I think one of the kids has it. Will dig it out.
The moon is beautiful tonight
Really stunning. So good to get a clear night.
🧡
Woke up to a gorgeous snow moon still high in the sky. Then a wispy cloud drifted across it and my happiness was complete - so beautiful.
I love the picture wouldn’t necessarily want it on my wall but it’s intriguing and vaguely sinister!
We drove home from dinner with friends in a fog so low and thick it was disorienting. No moon for us last night!
