A quickie this week as we are so close to the end of the month. Every week I ask the question: what have you been noticing this week? And for me this week it is roses, wild and cultivated, leaning from front gardens and scrambling up hedgerows. Plus this beauty, in my garden.
Some housekeeping: tomorrow is the last day of the month and so please look out for the Big, Beautiful Poem of the Month (can’t BELIEVE Trump nicked this…), and then Sunday will be the first Sunday of the month and so we will be playing ‘Usual Spot’ in the chat part of the app - where we take a pic of the same spot at the beginning of each moth - and I encourage the organised among us to give us the six month round up: yes we want to see January to June! It is also the perfect moment to begin if you haven’t jumped in yet.
In the meantime, to business: what have you noticed/eaten/smelt/spotted this week that has felt particularly ‘this week of the year?
The apricot tree that I grew from a stone has it’s first fruit. And the alpine strawberries keep on giving sweet pops of red, over 20 years.
Hearing and seeing more thrushes than I’ve seen for a long time in our part of Sheffield. Noticing tiny conkers on the horse chestnuts. Being up far too early because it’s so light and I can’t get back to sleep…
