What a gorgeous cover Lia! We’ve had a couple of evening wanders on the moors, glad to see skylarks and curlews overhead. And an unexpected moorland cow that sniffed my leg and startled me into an ankle deep bog.
A walk on a long empty beach with my husband, step daughter and her partner. Never too grown up to skim stones* and paddle in rock pools. And our dog was happy to find some disgusting things to roll in. Love this time of year 🌞. Enjoying the orchids that are now popping up everywhere too. Happy Friday folks.
I love the new cover Lia - a week of wonderful reveals for you! Here the garden is full of primping ballerinas, with the peonies and roses jostling for attention.
Have a lovely holiday Lia - and bravo on the sweet peas and tomatoes. Mine are far from that stage but I live in hopes! We are off to Tiree tomorrow - my other happy place I couldn’t go to last year because of my BC. This will be such a homecoming!
Wow! That’s amazing Su - I was just reading the poster advertising that. The film studio is a new thing to us on Tiree ( we’ve not been for over a year) and great things seem to be happening there with workshops, screenings, festivals and teaching skills. Lovely stuff - hope you enjoy it! We’ve been going to Tiree yearly for 25 years and never tire of it xx
The roses and philadephus are in beautiful full bloom, I can never resist bringing some into the house, even though I then spend days gathering up fallen petals. And joy of joys, A level season is over in our house!
Watching that extra special low lazy strawberry/mead/honey/rose moon rising over the London skyline, over the Dockland buildings, not a sight I see every year. For a moment, the skyscrapers of the city become like the megaliths of old, and I realise...if you find the perfect spot, anywhere could potentially become a place where the heavens and earth align just right.
I've been harvesting blackcurrants almost every day this week (they're early this year). Their tart sweetness is delicious with some Greek yoghurt in the morning.
The apple tree is laden with so many small fruits, I've been thinning out the smallest ones to make more room, though quite a few have fallen into the grass underneath.
Pegging out washing, hearing a steady hum from diligent bees enjoying the profusion of blossom on our raspberry canes.

Love the concept of an unexpected moorland cow 😄 Less keen on the ankle deep bog…
There’s usually sheep up there, never seen a cow before. I had very wet feet!
I feel as though I can smell those delicious tomato leaves and sweetpeas in your photos, yummy!

*Not me - I'm a hopeless stone skimmer 😁.

Have a fantastic trip Sue!
I went to check the tiny apricot that is the first fruit on the tree from a stone. It dropped into my hand and I ate it.
Sam Cannon’s cover artwork is perfect.
my apricot tree that i grew from a stone had 3 this year, 2 of which were taken by birds but 1 is still clinging on.
oh wow! homegrown apricot!
My farmer friend has the first ever peaches on the tree he grew from seed, 3 of them , tiny and very furry.
Wow how lovely
And that Almanac cover is so beautiful Lia. Have a great holiday!

Just enough ripe strawberries in my tiny strawberry patch for me to eat every day with my breakfast.
Im growing peas and they are flowering. Beautiful cover.

Being in southern Spain we are treated to lemons falling, literally, into our laps! Lemon on fish and avocados, chunks in sparkling water…
Beautiful cover to it!! Look forward to British woodlands, dells, groves, trees and copses....
