Loved being part of this community Lia and now I have an entire folder of notes from a year of seasonal things on my phone - which I will treasure 💛 rest up well and enjoy Christmas and new year. I’m just going to list some things from my week: the Christmas mess - paper and ribbons strewn all over the floor, snuggling up with cosy Christmas reads, the very first winter cherry blossom in its papery delicate glory, spotted on the Boxing Day walk. Aging hawthorn berries framing the bare countryside - spending every drive and walk trying to imagine how I would paint the delicate intricacies of wintertime trees. Warming cold toes by the fire and wet hats and gloves gently steaming as they dry.

I do that with winter trees too! Always thinking of drawing their shapes. Didn’t realise anyone else did! 😂

What a year it has been! But Lia's has been a wonderful part of it! Not a good year health wise for me, but still working on getting better! The comments from everybody that read my posts have been so inspiring. Thank you to all of you, and I wish you all the best new year! Onwards and upwards xxxxx

Enjoy your break, Lia. Hope you get some peace and come out of your burrow restored. Well the year has turned and the calendar will confirm that soon. I’m feeling my usual urge to take all the Christmas decorations down, with the same joy I feel when I put them up. There’s a beautiful blue sky here this morning. The garden is waking up - the witch hazel is flowering, I noticed the first scent from the Christmas box by the front door yesterday and, best of all, the green spikes of the snowdrops are coming up all over the place.

Thanks Lia and everyone for a year of conscious seasonality! I didn't do the usual spot thing this year so I'll have to jump on the train next year. In terms of things from this week, it's of course been a week of roast potatoes and other rich fare, and seeing very dear friends - some I seldom get to hang out with, some I see all year round, all equally beloved. I'm reflecting on the year just gone and plotting my plans for the year ahead...

Hi there I'm new here and signed up after buying the 2024 Almanac which I'm so excited to immerse myself in. I love nature and watching the changes of seasons so making a purchase seemed like a complete no brainer. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone else and being part of a community of fellow nature loving folk. Thanks for allowing me to be here!

Enjoy your break Lia. What a week of tempestuous weather - and a great excuse to hunker down with loved ones, beside the tree and att the table. Wishing everyone peace for the new year. X

Festive greetings! I hope everyone had a peaceful and Merry Christmas. It was my birthday yesterday, which is always a funny one in the betwixtmas bit before New Year, but was a lovely one spent with family at home. The weather has been horrendous and stormy, but there was a moment of calm and a beautiful woodpecker on the bird table - not seen on the feeder before but what a treat. Have a great New Year, and hopefully a wonderful start to 2024.

Have a good break Lia and thanks for all your writing and chats, they really have been a lovely focus over the year.

I was random and ‘spotted’ all over the place in 2023, which I enjoyed. I did relent and compiled 12 pics of the sky from my window and actually loved the reel.

Happy New Year everyone! X

My favourite place on the internet this year -

Hope everyone here has had a peaceful festive time - I am prolonging the joy of my new Xmas decorations & lights & not rushing to take them down till after new year. Slowly, slowly for me this year & trying to savour each seasonal moment.

This week

Xmas Eve traditions of reading Lucy & Toms Xmas, the elves delivering jammies & a busy kitchen with pigs in blankets & raspberry / white chocolate cheesecake in the works.

Hilarity on Xmas day as my son received a beautiful birthstone necklace from his auntie only to discover on closer inspection ( unbeknownst to her ) that it’s an ‘urn’ necklace for carrying a loved ones ashes ! The family jokes will carry on for years .. 😂

The cold full moon making her presence felt albeit fleeting back & forth as clouds raced before her in the stormy weather.

Happy New Year lovely people & Thankyou for this wonderful space Lia xx

Thank you Lia for this lovely community, a ray of sunshine and a weekly reminder to stop and notice what’s around me. Been unwell this week and that combined with the horrendous stormy weather means I haven’t been out much. But did spot some cherry blossom which really surprised me. And lots of kids riding around on their new Christmas presents!
